Walnuts are exceptionally healthy. Many see them as a universal medicine. Walnuts are a food rich in fiber, proteins, vitamins and minerals. They stand out with their high quantity of unsaturated fatty acids, including omega-3. Further, they contain high quantities of potassium, magnesium, phosphorous and others.

Of course, it's best to consume them raw, although many prefer them baked. The actual process is really simple. All you have to do is lightly sprinkle the halved walnuts with a little water, salt them and put them in the oven.

Bake the walnuts about 15-20 min. in a preheated 338°F (170 °C) oven with the fan on. Stir them 2-3 times during baking. If you don't feel like waiting that long, you can cook them in the microwave.

Baking walnuts in the microwave takes about 1-2 min. for 2/5 cup (100 g) of nuts and you have to be particularly careful not to burn them.

Regular consumption of walnuts, whether raw or baked, strengthens the skeletal system, helps provide relief to cardiac disorders, vision problems and helps those suffering from diabetes.
