One of the reasons for making macaroni is that you will have dinner ready in just 15 min. If you want to be satisfied with your cooking and use of pasta, our advice is to always buy high-quality ones.

True, they are more expensive, but we are not talking about huge expenses. A low-quality pasta will end up sticky after cooking. The best types of pasta are made from hard wheat. When shopping, be sure to pay attention to the labels on the products.

1. Always use a large container. Remember that 9 1/3 cups (2.25 L) water are needed for 8 oz (225 g) of pasta. Add 1 tablespoon of salt. Before putting the pasta in the water, make sure that it is already boiling. Once you put in the macaroni, stir only once to separate the pieces.

2. It is not necessary to cover the container with a lid. The water comes to a boil quickly and there is a danger of the water spilling out over the stove. Watch the time. High-quality pasta is ready from between 8 to 12 min. But the cooking time depends on the shape and quality of the pasta. Therefore, the only sure way to check if the pasta is ready is to try it. Try it on the 8th, 9th, 10th minute, etc.

3. Once the pasta has been boiled, use a colander to drain out the water. First, rinse the colander with hot water to prepare it for draining the pasta. Do not drain out absolutely all of the water but leave a little bit on the bottom of the container, to prevent the macaroni from drying.

4. Always serve them in slightly warmed plates. It is good to scoop the spaghetti or macaroni with a pasta spoon and be sure to always lift them high enough before placing them in the plates, to separate out the individual spaghetti.
