How to Make Egg Punch

Eggnog is an American beverage and its preparation for the Christmas table is a long standing tradition. This drink seems to carry some magic, relating to the romance of Christmas Eve, when the atmosphere and heart are warm, and trembling children open their presents.

If you want to make egg punch to warm you during the cold winter nights, it turns out that's not difficult. Of course, the options for the preparation are many, but we have selected for you one that surely will not disappoint. Here's the recipe for making 6 cups of the magic drink.

Ingredients: 4 eggs, 2 cups sugar, 2 cups milk, 2 cups cream, 50 g rum and 50 g whiskey.

Method: First split the yolks from the whites and place them in separate containers. Add one cup sugar to the yolks and beat with a mixer at high speed until fluffy and you obtain a pale yellow foam. Then beat the egg whites and add a pinch of salt, then gradually pour in the second cup of sugar. Whip until you get a thick snow. Then you have to add the already beaten egg yolks to it. Pour the yellow foam in a trickle, all the while keeping on stirring. Now add alcohol to a trickle again, slowly and carefully. Likewise, add the milk, and then the first cup of cream.

The second cup of cream is whipped in a separate bowl until it becomes fluffy in appearance. Add to the mix, but now without a mixer. Just stir by hand without hurry. Thus, the punch is ready. Leave it to cool and then it can be served to guests. Before that, add a pinch of grated nutmeg or cinnamon to each of the glasses.
