Ingredients

  • water - 1 1/5 cups (300 ml)
  • eggs - 1
  • sugar - 2 tbsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • butter - 3 tbsp, melted
  • yeast - 1 1/3 tsp (7 g) dry
  • flour - 2 1/5 cups (550 g)
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling
  • oil - for frying

How to make

Add 2/5 cup (100 ml) water to the dry yeast with 1 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp flour and leave it to rise up.

Pour the activated yeast in the middle of the sifted flour, add the rest of the water, salt, sugar, egg, melted butter and knead a medium soft dough. Leave to rise for 40 min. until it doubles in volume.

Divide up the dough into small balls, about the size of an apricot. Make a hole in the middle of each with your fingers to obtain a donut.

Heat oil in a pan on moderate heat so they don't burn and fry on both sides until golden. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
