Ingredients

  • bacon - 11 oz (300 g) canned, smoked, or seasoned
  • rice - 5.5 oz (150 g)
  • cheese - 5.5 oz (150 g) to 7 oz (200 g) solid
  • lard - 2 oz (60 g) pork
  • cabbage - 27 oz (750 g)
  • onions - 1 to 2 heads 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • paprika - 1 tsp (5 g)
  • black pepper
  • salt - if needed

Preparation

Saute the chopped onions in oil and some water. Add rice, sprinkle with red and black pepper and add 1/2 cup hot water.

Add salt and cook until the liquid is absorbed. Cut pieces of the cabbage leaves rough and cut the bacon into small pieces.

Crumble the cheese. In each leaf, roll 1-2 pieces bacon 1 tablespoon stuffing of rice and add some crumbled cheese.

Arrange the rolled cabbage in a saucepan with cabbage leaves on the bottom. Cover the top with another cabbage leave, pour in hot water and cook on low heat.
