  • mackerel - 2 clean pieces
  • garlic - 5/6 cloves
  • olive oil - 4 tbsp
  • lemon juice - 3 tablespoons
  • spices - 1 tsp for fish
  • lovage - to taste, dried
  • pepper - about 2/3 tsp
  • white pepper - 1/3 tsp
  • salt


Garlic is crushed and mixed with the other herbs, lemon juice and olive oil. Leave to mix all the flavors for at least 5 minutes. Form a paste with which is coated the thoroughly cleaned and chilled mackerel.

Let it stay for about 15 minutes wrapped in foil and grill wit constant turning. Trimming Very good for the strong garlic flavor are boiled potatoes with dill.
