  • vodka - 8 1/3 cups (2 l) quality
  • lemons - 20 pieces
  • sugar - 3 1/3 cups (800 g)
  • water - 5 1/5 cups (1.25 l)


Wash and dry the lemons. Scrape the yellow from the white part of the peel carefully. Put the peels in a glass container with a lid and pour vodka in. Put the lid tightly and leave the dish in a cool dark place for one month.

After 30 days, pour the sugar in a saucepan, adding water and heating over medium heat on the stove. Once the sugar has dissolved, allow the syrup to cool to room temperature. Then add the vodka and lemon peel.

Cover the pot well again and leave in a cool dark place for 7 days. Then strain the liquid and divide it into bottles. Keep them in a cool place.

This makes around 12 1/2 cups (3 l) limoncellos.
