Colorful Moussaka

  • mince - 17.5 oz (500 g), a mixture
  • feta cheese - 9 oz (250 g)
  • peppers - 10, roasted and peeled (red and green)
  • leeks - 1 bunch
  • mushrooms - 7 oz (200 g)
  • eggs - 1
  • bread - 1 slice dry, soaked in water and drained
  • oil
  • savory
  • black pepper
  • salt
  • for the topping
  • eggs - 3
  • yoghurt - 1/2 cup
  • flour - 2 tablespoons


Cut the mushrooms and leeks and saute them briefly in oil. Mix the minced meat with the soaked and drained slice of bread, egg and spices. Cut the red peppers into strips, mix them with the crumbled feta cheese and add spices again, to taste.

In a greased oven dish, alternate between layers of mince, peppers with feta cheese and a third layer of mushrooms with leeks. Alternate until out of products and season it with spices once again.

Put this colorful moussaka to bake for about 20 minutes in a preheated 392°F (200 °C) oven. Beat the eggs, yoghurt and flour for the topping, pour it over the moussaka and finish cooking until reddened.
