Ingredients

  • eggs - 3 whites from large eggs
  • powdered sugar - 4 cups
  • lemon juice - a few drops
  • food coloring – if desired

Preparation

Beat the egg whites with the lemon juice in a large, dry bowl. Once you get a thick foam, add the powdered sugar while continuously whipping.

Beat the whites until they harden and become shiny and smooth. Finally, you can dye the royal icing with food coloring if desired.

Use this icing for pastries, cookies and cakes. Store the bowl in the refrigerator, covered with foil.find similar recipes here
