Ingredients

  • pears - 6.5 lb (3 kg) hard, unripe
  • sugar - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • citric acid - 1 spoon
  • vanilla - 1 packet

How to make

Wash the pears, peel and clean them of seeds. Cut them into cubes and put them in a container. Coat with sugar, and let them sit overnight.

The next day, boil them without adding water, to thicken the syrup. Just before removing from the heat, add the vanilla and the citric acid.

Put them in the jars and sterilize them for about 5 minutes.
