"A colorful and very tasty roll which you can serve up for a special occasion or none at all."

Ingredients

  • mince - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • eggs - 2 boiled + 1 raw
  • carrots - 2, boiled
  • pickles - 2 - 3
  • peas - 1/2 cup, boiled
  • onions - 1
  • savory - 1 tsp
  • black pepper - 1 pinch, ground
  • oil - 3 - 4 tablespoons
  • breadcrumbs - 1 cup

How to make

Cut the vegetables into small cubes, mix them with the minced meat and spices. Knead well. Grease an elongated pie form (or a round one with a hole) and sprinkle with plenty of breadcrumbs. Place the kneaded mince into the form and smooth it out.

Smear it with a little oil and then sprinkle it well with breadcrumbs. Cover the form with aluminium foil and place it in a preheated oven on the medium element. Bake the roll for 40 minutes. In order to get a crust, remove the foil at the end and bake only on the upper element until golden.

Do not remove the roll from the form immediately, wait at least 10 minutes. Cut it into slices with a thickness of about 1/2″ (1 cm) and serve each portion with 2-3 of these pieces and add steamed rice or potatoes, fresh vegetables or sauce to it as a garnish.

From these products, you can make about 6 servings.
