  • flour - 2 1/4 cups
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • butter - 1 cup
  • sugar - 3/4 cup
  • brown sugar - 3/4 cup
  • vanilla - 1 tsp, essence
  • eggs - 2 - large
  • chocolate - 12.5 oz (350 g) crushed dark or chocolate pellets / chips


Beat the butter with both sugars and vanilla until you get a creamy mixture. Add the flour, baking soda and salt, mix well and add the eggs one at a time. Finally, mix in the chocolate chips.

Leave the mixture in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Using a spoon, scoop and form small cookies on a tray with baking paper, leaving some space between them.

Put the American chocolate chip cookies to bake to a nice golden color in a preheated oven at 392°F (200 °C). Baking takes approximately 10 minutes or a little more.
