  • yeast - 1 2/3 tbsp (25 g)
  • water - 1 1/5 cups (300 ml), cool
  • oil - 2/3 cup (150 ml)
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • baking soda - 1 pinch
  • flour - 2 1/2 cups (600 g)
  • vanilla - 2 packets
  • orange zest - 2 tablespoons
  • turkish delight - for the filling, you can use marmalade

Dissolve the yeast in the warm water with a little sugar. Sift the flour and in a well in the middle, add the sugar, oil, salt, a pinch of baking soda and vanilla. Then add the yeast and knead a soft dough gradually, which must not be sticky. Finally, mix the orange peel in.

Leave it in a covered container in a warm place to rise. Divide the dough into 4 parts and roll each one out into a circle. Then cut each circle into 12 triangles, like a cake. At the base of the triangles, put marmalade or Turkish delight and roll up the scones.

Arrange them in a baking dish, covered with baking paper. Brush them lightly with oil and put them to bake in a heated 356°F (180 °C) oven, until pinking.

When the scones are ready, sprinkle them with powdered sugar if desired.find similar recipes here
