Ingredients

  • lard - 1 cup, or oil or butter
  • milk - 1 cup
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - as you need
  • powdered sugar - for rolling
  • vanilla - 1/2 ampoule, essence
  • rum - 1 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • lemon zest - 1 tsp

How to make

Knead a firm dough from the lard, milk, baking soda and flour. Add 1-2 tablespoons sugar if desired, the vanilla, cinnamon and lemon rind. Roll out the dough into a thin crust and cut out rectangles of about 2 1/2″ (6 cm).

Smear each rectangle with a little marmalade by choice, to which you have added the rum. Roll up the cigars and put them to bake in a greased tray in moderate oven. While still hot, roll them in powdered sugar.
