Ingredients

  • lard - 2 cups, melted
  • carbonated water - 1 cup (250 g)
  • hartshorn - 1 packet
  • walnuts - 1 cup, whole
  • powdered sugar - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • flour - 2 lb (1 kg) for a soft dough, or a little more
  • turkish delight - 3.5 oz (100 g)

How to make

Melt the lard, add the hartshorn, water and flour, knead a soft dough. Divide the dough into balls and roll each one out into a circle.

Cut triangles and at the base of each, put a piece of Turkish delight and a walnut. Roll into a tight scone.

Bake at 390°F (200 °C) in a preheated oven. While still hot, sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
