  • mince - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • potatoes - 14 oz (400 g)
  • onions - 2 heads
  • eggs - 3
  • bread - 10.5 oz (300 g), breadcrumbs
  • parsley - finely chopped
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper


Peel the potatoes and wash them. Grate them and drain out their excess juice. Chop the onion finely and mix it with the potatoes and minced meat. Add eggs, bread crumbs, parsley and salt and pepper to taste.

Knead the mixture well, level it out in a container and cover with a thin layer of olive oil. Allow it to stand for half an hour until the oil is absorbed. Then stir gently.

Knead small balls from the minced meat and drop them to fry in the preheated oil. Drain the ready Cypriot meatballs on paper towels. Serve them with a side dish of your choice.
