Ingredients

  • flour - 1 cup (250 g)
  • sugar - 1/2 cup (125 g)
  • vanilla sugar - 1 packet
  • pumpkins - 1/2 cup (125 g), pumpkin puree
  • butter - 3 tablespoons, or oil
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • orange zest - 1 tsp
  • confectionery dye - orange
  • pumpkin seeds - 2 tablespoons, peeled

Preparation

Sift the flour with the baking powder and add the vanilla sugar, then add the pumpkin puree, butter or oil, grated orange zest and finally, orange dye. Knead a medium dense, slightly sticky dough. Grease your palms and shape it into balls the size of a walnut.

Arrange them on a tray, laid out with baking paper. On each ball, put one pumpkin seed. Put the pumpkin cookies in a preheated 356°F (180°C) oven.
