Ingredients

  • flour - 1 cup (225 g)
  • sugar - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 g)
  • butter - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 g)
  • eggs - 2
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • lemon zest - grated lemon rind
  • cream - 6 tablespoons
  • cognac - 5 tablespoons
  • apples - 6
  • powdered sugar
  • cinnamon
  • jam - cherry

Preparation

Heat the butter and using a whisk, beat it with the eggs and sugar. Add the salt, lemon zest, flour, cream and brandy and whip until you get a homogeneous mixture. Remove the seeds from the apples using an apple corer without cutting them.

Then cut them into rings about 1/2″ (1 cm) thick. Heat oil in a large pot to 356°F (180 °C). Dip each apple ring into the dough with a fork and carefully put it in the hot oil. Fry the apple donuts until golden on both sides, while also gently turning them with a slotted spoon.

When finished, drain the donuts on paper towels. Mix the powdered sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle the donuts and serve them with cherry jam.find similar recipes here
