Ingredients

  • flour - 2 1/2 cups (600 g)
  • salt - 1 1/2 tsp
  • powdered dry milk - 2 2/5 tbsp (37 g)
  • sugar - 3 1/4 tbsp
  • yeast - 2 tsp, dry
  • eggs - 1 + 1, to spread
  • butter - 3 tbsp (46 g)
  • water - 1 2/5 cups (350 ml)
  • poppy seeds - for sprinkling, or use sesame seeds

Preparation

Mix the dry products in a large bowl. Add the water, butter and 1 egg. Mix a dough with a mixer for 6-7 minutes - you need to get a soft and slightly sticky dough. Transfer it to a greased bowl and cover.

Keep the dough in a warm place for 1-2 hours while it increases its volume twice. Form 12-16 buns from the dough, cover them and let them "rest" for 20 minutes. Form the buns once again and arrange in a baking tray.

Leave them in a warm place yet again to rise for 60-90 minutes. Smear them with egg and sprinkle with poppy or sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven for bread, at 392°F (200 °C), for 15 minutes.
