Ingredients

  • eggs - 5 - 6
  • flour - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • yoghurt - 1 cup
  • oil - 1/2 cup
  • yeast - 1 packet fresh
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • sugar - a little
  • butter - or margarine
  • feta cheese - 12.5 oz (350 g)

How to make

Sift the flour, leaving a little in a separate dish and mix the rest with the other products. It is recommended for the eggs, yoghurt and yeast to be cool, so the dough rises faster. Knead a very soft, non-sticky dough. Leave it to rise well, you may knead it once more, then divide it into 5 balls and each of those into 3 more.

Roll out the first sheet and smear it with oil (margarine or butter), put the second on top and smear it with oil again, place the third, smear and crumble the feta cheese on top, then make it into a roll and twist from both sides, wrap it into a snail shell pattern and arrange it in an oven dish with oil.

Repeat this procedure for the rest, let them rise once again in a tray and finally, smear the top with an egg yolk. Bake at 360°F (180 °C) for about 1 hour.
