"We`re cooking moussaka, moussaka made of macaroni. And you`re invited to lunch to try it."

Ingredients

  • macaroni - 17.5 oz (500 g) large
  • mince - 17.5 oz (500 g) beef
  • olive oil - 1 1/2 cups
  • cheese - 2 cups
  • white wine - 1 cup
  • tomato paste - 1 tbsp
  • garlic - 2 - 3 cloves
  • milk - 2 cups (500 g)
  • eggs - 2
  • flour - 5 tablespoons
  • black pepper
  • salt
  • cinnamon

How to make

Heat half the olive oil and fry the minced meat in it. Add spices to taste, pressed garlic and tomato paste. Stir, reduce the heat and fry for 15 minutes. Add the white wine and fry for at least another 30 minutes.

Boil the macaroni in salted water. Drain them and pour on a little olive oil. Whip the milk with the flour. Add in the beaten eggs and heat on the stove. Boil the mixture while stirring nonstop and let it simmer to thickening.

Lay half of the macaroni in a greased tray. Spread the minced meat on top and then the remaining macaroni.

Pour the prepared sauce over the moussaka, sprinkle it with plenty of olive oil and cheese and bake for 30 minutes in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven.
