Beat the eggs, sugar and milk. Add the grated lemon rind, vanilla and breadcrumbs.

Pour the mixture into a greased deep baking tray and arrange the drained cherries (pitted) on top. Bake the fruit pudding at 392°F (200 °C) until browned and set.
