"Chicken with cabbage ain`t bad either but it can never be as good as chicken with sauerkraut."

  • chicken - 1
  • onions - 3 heads
  • oil - 3 tbsp
  • paprika - 1 - 2 tbsp
  • rice - 2 cups
  • sauerkraut - 1 head
  • butter - 2/3 cup (150 g), or lard
  • black pepper

How to make

Braise the chopped onions in the oil and add the washed rice. Braise until it turns glassy, sprinkle with the spices and pour in 1 cup of water. Boil until the rice swells.

Stuff the cleaned, washed and lightly salted chicken with the rice and sew it closed.

Chop the sauerkraut and braise it in the butter, sprinkle with paprika at the end. Pour the sauerkraut into a tray, put the chicken on top, smear it with oil and paprika and cover with sauerkraut leaves.
