Ingredients

  • For the dough
  • flour - 2/5 cup (100 g)
  • semolina - 1 2/3 tbsp (25 g)
  • eggs - 5
  • sugar - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 g)
  • water - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml)
  • vanilla - 1 packet
  • for the syrup
  • sugar - 1 1/5 cups (300 g)
  • water - 2 cups (500 ml)

Preparation

Whip the egg yolks with half the sugar in a water bath until you get a fluffy cream and the sugar melts. Continue whipping until the mixture cools.

Separately, whip the egg whites with the remaining sugar. Combine them carefully with the other mixture, stirring carefully.

As you stir, sprinkle in the flour and semolina in portions.

Flavor with the vanilla and transfer to a buttered oven dish, sprinkled with a little flour. Bake in a moderate oven until ready.

Boil a syrup from the sugar and water and pour it onto the cooled layer while the syrup is still warm.find similar recipes here
