"A classic meatless dish you`ll make easily, no matter if you`re a novice cook or master chef."

Ingredients

  • rice - 1 1/2 cups
  • zucchini - 5, medium - sized
  • carrots - 2
  • onions - 1 head
  • dill - 1 pinch
  • salt - to taste
  • black pepper
  • bay leaf - 1 - 2
  • oil - 2 tbsp (30 ml) for the roux, can use olive oil
  • water - 4 1/2 cups, for the rice

How to make

Slice the carrots and onions finely and put them in a preheated pan with oil / olive oil. Fry for 5 minutes and add the coarsely chopped zucchini, fry for another 5 minutes.

Pour the mixture into an oven dish. Wash the rice and add it to the oven dish, along with the water. The rice to water ratio is 1 to 3. If you want to, you can braise the rice in advance.

Add the spices, mix well and put them in a preheated oven to bake. Bake for the first 20 minutes at 480°F (250 °C) until the water in the oven dish boils, and then another 20-25 min minutes at 300°F (150 °C), until the rice fully absorbs the water.
