"A tasty and lovely-looking Turkish dish!"

Ingredients

  • tomatoes - 3 - 4 large
  • mince - 5.5 oz (150 g)
  • onions - 1 small head
  • peppers - 1, red
  • tomato paste - 1 tsp
  • oregano
  • savory
  • cumin
  • oil
  • black pepper
  • cheese - 2 oz (50 g)
measures

How to make

Heat the oven to 370°F (190 °C). Wash the large tomatoes and cut each into 3-4 parts but not all the way through. Wash the onion and pepper, cut them finely.

Knead the mince with the cut vegetables and add the spices and tomato paste. If it turns out too runny, add some breadcrumbs. Form small meatballs. Stuff them in between the tomato slices.

Pour a little oil on top and arrange in an oven dish. Pour in just 2 2/3 tbsp (40 ml) of water; the tomatoes and mince will release their juices. Bake in a preheated oven until the mince is cooked.

Shortly before they're done, take them out and sprinkle grated cheese on top of the mince. Return to the oven to crisp. Serve right away. A tasty and lovely-looking Turkish dish.
