Ingredients

  • blackcurrants - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • sugar - 2 cups (500 g)
  • gelling agent - 1 packet

Preparation

Clean the blackcurrants of their stems and leaves. Mix the gelling agent with 2 tbsp sugar and add this to the fruits. Stir well. Put the mixture to come to a boil on medium temperature, while stirring nonstop.

Once it comes to a boil, add the rest of the sugar and stir. Let it boil for about 5 min., while removing the foam with a slotted spoon periodically. Remove the ready jam from the stove.

While still hot, pour it into dry jars and close well with their caps. Turn them upside down and leave them to cool. If you want to play it ultra safe, after you distribute into jars and close the caps, you can boil them another 5 min. after the water comes to a boil.find similar recipes here
