Ingredients

  • margarine - 4/5 cup (200 g) (or butter)
  • eggs - 3
  • sugar - 1 cup + some for sprinkling
  • yeast - 1 cube
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • jam - 1 jar, blackcurrants
  • milk - 4/5 cup (200 ml)
  • flour - 3 1/5 cups (750 g) (if needed add more)

Preparation

Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk. Add the salt and sugar. Once the yeast rises, break in the eggs (set aside 1 yolk for smearing) and beat. Add them to the yeast. Make a well from the sifted flour.

Pour in the mixture, add the softened margarine as well. Knead a soft dough. Leave it in a warm area, covered with foil, to rise.

Divide the dough into balls. Roll out the balls into thin sheets and cut them into squares. Put blackcurrant jam in each square.

Smear each with beaten yolk, sprinkle with sugar, arrange them in an oven dish laid out with baking paper and leave in a warm area to rise.

Bake in a preheated oven until golden.find similar recipes here
