"These lovely chicken bites are great as both an appetizer and as a main course. They go perfectly with beer and garlic sauce."

Ingredients

  • chicken - 3.5 oz (100 g), meat
  • cheese - 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • emmental - 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • bread - 12 - 14 thin slices
  • for the breading
  • cornflakes
  • sesame seeds
  • eggs - 2
  • oil - for frying

How to make

Boil the chicken meat (I used drumsticks) and debone it.

Grate the cheese and add it to the chicken meat. Cut the emmental into pieces as well and add it to the rest of the ingredients.

Season with salt, black pepper and stir. Remove the crusts from the bread slices (use soft bread) and flatten the slices.

Beat the eggs in a bowl for the breading. Sprinkle the bread base with water, put some of the stuffing on top of each slice and roll into a ball.

Dip each ball in beaten egg, then in the mixture of cornflakes and sesame seeds and fry the balls in heated oil.

Drain from the oil and serve warm. You can make a suitable sauce if desired.
