  • baltic herring - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • salt
  • lemon juice - of 1 lemon + 1 whole lemon for garnishing
  • garlic - 1 tsp, powdered
  • oil - for smearing


Salt the cleaned fish. Season it with powdered garlic and the lemon juice.

Arrange the fish in an oven dish that you've laid out with baking paper and smeared with oil. Sprinkle with oil on top.
