Ingredients

  • cream - 2/5 cup (100 g)
  • flour - 3 cups
  • yeast - 1 cube
  • eggs - 5
  • sugar - 1 2/3 cups (400 g)
  • butter - 1 cup (250 g)
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • jam - 4 tbsp, apricot
  • walnuts - 1 cup, ground
  • vanilla - 2

How to make

Combine the butter with the flour and knead until you get crumbs. Combine the yeast with the cream and a pinch of sugar, then add it to the flour without waiting for it to bubble. Add the salt, 390°F (200 °C) of the sugar and 5 yolks.

Knead a medium thick dough. Roll it out into a crust and put it in an oiled oven dish. Leave it for 30 min. to rise. Bake until golden in a moderate oven.

Smear the apricot jam over this cake layer, put the 5 beaten to snow egg whites on top, to which you've added the rest of the sugar and vanilla. At the very top, sprinkle with walnuts and put it for 5 min. in the oven.
