  • milk - 1 cup
  • oil - 1 cup
  • walnuts - 1 cup ground + 1/2 cup coarsely mashed

measures

How to make

In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar using a mixer, add the oil, cognac, finely grated orange rinds and the milk.

Separately, mix the breadcrumbs, the coarsely mashed and ground walnuts, cinnamon, baking powder and cloves. Stir well.

Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and stir with a spatula. Heat the oven to 360°F (180 °C), pour the mixture in a lightly oiled rectangular tray and put it in the oven.

Bake until ready - about 25 min. Take the baked cake out of the oven, cut it to pieces of your desired size and shape.

Put all of the ingredients for the syrup in a pot and boil on high heat for 5 min., then immediately pour it over the cake. Sprinkle with ground walnuts and leave it to cool completely before serving.
