Ingredients

  • yeast - 1
  • flour - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • water - 1 cup
  • yoghurt - 3 tbsp
  • eggs - 1 + 1 yolk for smearing
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • butter - 1/2 packet
  • feta cheese - 1 lump

How to make

Dilute 1 packet of yeast in 1 cup cool water. Pour the flour into a suitable oven dish. Pour the diluted yeast into the flour, along with 3 tbsp yoghurt, 1 egg, the salt and sugar.

Knead the dough and divide it into 3 parts. Roll them out to the same size as the oven dish, smear with butter and sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese. Arrange them one on top of the other.

Cut out a circle from the middle, make it into a ball and place it in the middle of the oven dish. Cut the rest of it into 16 identical parts and wrap them up like croissants. Once you've wrapped them up, arrange them around the dough ball.

Leave it to rise as long as needed, smear it with an egg yolk beaten ahead of time and bake at 360°F (180 °C) for 50 min. Bon appetit!
