Ingredients

  • lard - 4/5 cup (200 g), softened
  • eggs - 1
  • powdered sugar - 2/3 cup (150 g) + some for rolling
  • flour - 1 2/3 cups (400 g)
  • vanilla - 4 powder packets

Preparation

Beat the egg, softened pork lard and sugar with a large fork. Add the mixture to the flour with vanilla.

Knead a dough quickly, so the lard doesn't get too soft. Roll out the dough to a sheet about 1/4" (5 mm) thick and cut out forms of the desired shape - squares, rectangles, circles, etc. You can even shape them into balls.

Arrange them onto a tray with baking paper and bake at 356°F (180 °C) for 10-12 min. until slightly reddened.

While still hot, roll the shortbread cookies in powdered sugar.find similar recipes here
