Ingredients

  • pumpkins - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • phyllo pastry - 1 packet, sheets
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • walnuts - 1/2 cup, crumbled
  • cinnamon - 1 tbsp
  • oil - 1/2 cup
  • butter - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 g)
  • syrup
  • water - 1/2 cup
  • sugar - 1/2 cup
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling

How to make

Peel and clean the pumpkin. Grate it coarsely and saute it with the oil and sugar until it softens. Add the chopped walnuts and cinnamon. Leave the filling to cool.

Lay out the phyllo pastry sheets. Grab 2 sheets, put filling on them, place another 2 sheets on top, filling again and continue until out of sheets and filling.

Finish off with pumpkin filling at the very top. Roll up thus arranged sheets into a roll. Cut the roll into pieces.

Arrange the pieces in an oiled tray, with the filling facing up. Smear with butter and bake in a preheated oven until golden.

Make a syrup from the sugar and water, sprinkle it over the prepared stumps.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
