Ingredients

  • phyllo pastry - 1 packet, fine sheets
  • eggs - 3
  • flour - 1/2 cup
  • sugar - 1 1/2 cups
  • baking powder - 1 packet
  • vanilla - 1 - 2
  • turkish delight - 2 boxes, multi - colored
  • oil - 2 - 3 tbsp + some for smearing

How to make

In a suitable container, mix the eggs, flour, oil, vanilla and 1/2 cup sugar. Stir until you obtain a cake batter. Lay out the fine sheets, take 1 of them.

Smear it generously with the mixture and cover with a 2nd sheet. Put pieces of Turkish delight in the narrow end of the sheet and wrap it into a tight roll. Repeat for all of the sheets.

Arrange the rolled up sheets in a round or rectangular tray, greased ahead of time.

Bake the Turkish delight phyllo pastry in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven with the fan on until ready.

While it's baking, prepare the sugar syrup. Dissolve the remaining sugar in 2 cups water and bring to a boil on low heat to fully dissolve the sugar. Once the phyllo pastry cools, syrup it with the hot sugar syrup and leave for at least 2-3 hours in the fridge to syrup evenly.
