Ingredients

  • water - 2 cups (500 ml)
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • honey - 1 tbsp
  • yeast - 11 g dry
  • oil - 2/5 cup (100 ml)
  • oatmeal - 4/5 cup (200 ml)
  • flour - 2 cups (500 g) + 2 cups (500g) rye white

How to make

Dissolve the yeast in a little hot water and add oatmeal, and after that, the salt, honey, oil and then beat.

Add the sifted flour (both) and mix into a smooth and elastic dough. Put it in a bowl and cover. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

The dough is transferred into a greased tray, pouring slowly, so it does not become too thick.

Use a fork across the surface to make light concentric circles. Let it rest for another 15-20 minutes.

Brush lightly with oil and place the oatmeal bread to bake in moderately heated oven of 360°F (180°C) to 370°F (190 °C).

After about 10 minutes, turn down to 350°F (175 °C) and bake for another 25 minutes or until ready.
