"Is it a phyllo pastry or a cake? Not gonna worry about it too long, just gonna eat it up instead."

Ingredients

  • phyllo pastry - 5 sheets
  • eggs - 3
  • flour - 4 tablespoons
  • milk - 2/5 cup (100 ml)
  • oil - 1/4 cup
  • feta cheese - 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp

How to make

Put the eggs and milk in a bowl, beat them well. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, oil and beat the mixture well again.

Wrap up the 5 phyllo pastry sheets into a roll and cut them into 1/2″ (1 cm) pieces with scissors. Stir with your hands to obtain single pieces.

Add the coarsely crumbled feta cheese and pieces of sheets to the mixture. Stir well until homogeneous.

Oil a cake form and sprinkle it with flour.

Pour in the mixture and put it in the oven, turn it on to 370°F (185 °C) with just the bottom element on for the first 20 min.

Then turn both elements on and bake to a golden crust.

Once it's ready, take out and cover it with a towel for 20 min.

Then carefully take it out of the form and serve with ayran.

Instead of milk you can use yoghurt or lemonade.
