"Do you have any idea how long I`ve been waiting for someone to make Pretzels with Caraway?"

Ingredients

  • oil - 1/2 cup or lard or melted butter
  • milk - 1/2 cup
  • eggs - 1
  • ammonium bicarbonate - 1 tbsp
  • salt - to taste
  • flour - as much as it absorbs

How to make

Mix the oil, milk, egg, ammonium bicarbonate and salt in a bowl.

Beat the mixture well and while gradually adding flour, knead a moderately hard dough.

Allow the dough to rest for 2 hours, then roll it into a sheet with a thickness of approximately 1/4″ (0.5 cm) and cut out pretzel sticks with a wavy knife.

Coat them with the beaten egg, sprinkle with caraway seeds and put them to bake until they have a nice light tan.
