One of the most unpleasant procedures for people is defrosting the refrigerator. That's why most modern refrigerators have a defrost system.
However, it is not always possible to exclude manual labor. It is recommended to clean the refrigerator once or twice a year.
The defrosting process mainly consists of removing the snow cover from the evaporator surface of the deep freezer. The refrigerators, which had to be turned upside down once a month to defrost are long gone.
The more frequently the freezer compartment door of the refrigerator is opened, the higher the humidity in your kitchen, the faster a snow cover will form.
This snow and sometimes ice cover does not harm the refrigerator itself, but since it has a low thermal conductivity, it worsens the freezing, by interfering with the normal exchange of heat between the products and the evaporator.
There is a danger of damaging parts of the refrigerator or evaporator when trying to remove products that are blocked by a layer of snow or ice.
Those freezers, which do not have an anti-freeze system require defrosting. If your refrigerator is like this, before defrosting, remove all products.
Perishable products are placed in a box or pot, which is placed in a basin of cold water. Unplug the refrigerator from the outlet, open the freezer door and leave it in this position.
Place a thick towel on the bottom of the refrigerator to absorb the dripping water. To speed up the defrosting process, you can place a container filled with warm water in the freezer.
Do not attempt to scrape the ice with sharp objects, as this will damage the vaporizer. Wait for the ice to melt and wipe the entire refrigerator well with a dry cloth.
