During wintertime, when there is no abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, we often feel like eating something delightful, but at the same time we don't want to spend excessively on expensive ingredients.
With a little imagination and without spending too much money, you can astonish your relatives, loved one and friends during the winter months.
Turnip salad is an economical recipe suitable for cold days.
Preparation: Peel the turnip and grate it. In a salad bowl, mix the mayonnaise, yoghurt, lemon juice, mustard, salt and black pepper. Mix, add the grated turnip, mix again and sprinkle with the chopped green spices.
Chicken meat salad is for more formal occasions.
Preparation: This salad is made in wide and flat glass cups or bowls. It can also be made in the form of a salty cake. All of the products are arranged in layers. The first layer is composed of the finely chopped pickles, the second layer is the diced chicken meat, the third layer - grated egg whites.
The fourth layer is peas, the fifth is grated egg yolks. Salt it, sprinkle with black pepper and decorate with sprigs of parsley.
Celery soup is super delicious and has a filling and heating effect.
Ingredients: 17.5 oz of celeriac, 17.5 oz of potatoes, 2 tsp flour, 6 1/5 cups meat broth, 1 onion head, 1/5 cup of oil, 3 bread slices, 2 egg yolks, 2/5 cup of yoghurt, salt and black pepper to taste.
Preparation: Cut the washed celeriac into round slices and boil for 10 min. Cut the white bread into cubes and make croutons from it, by baking in the oven.
In a separate pot, heat the oil and fry the finely chopped onion in it, the potatoes that have been cut into cubes, the boiled celeriac. Once they come to a boil, add the flour while stirring and then pour in the broth.
Keep boiling everything until soft. Make uniform and thicken with the egg yolks, that have been whisked with the yoghurt. Serve hot with croutons.
Potato bake with mince is also appetizing and economical.
Ingredients: 17.5 of oz potatoes, 4 eggs, 1 pinch of nutmeg, 9 oz of mince, 1 onion head, salt and black pepper to taste, oil for frying.
Preparation: Boil the potatoes until tender. Peel them and make a puree, leave it to cool. Add in 3 raw eggs, salt and black pepper, a pinch of nutmeg.
Heat the oven to 356°F (180 °C). Meanwhile, fry the finely chopped onion in a saucepan until golden. Add the mince and fry for 10 min. Stir well and fry for another 10 min.
Remove from the fire, add salt and black pepper in leave it to cool. Add in the final raw egg and stir.
In an oiled dish, pour in half of the potato mixture, distribute the mince on top and cover with the rest of the potato mixture. Bake for about 40 min.
