Caciocavallo cheese is made from cow's milk or a combination of sheep's, goat's and cow's milk in Sicily, South Italy. 2.6 gal (10 L) of milk are needed for 2 lb (1 kg) of the final product. This cheese is also known as "horse cheese" but not because of the milk that it's made from but because they once used horses to dry it.

They would place sticks horizontally on the horse and tie the cheese to them. It has a teardrop shape, with a cord tied at the upper end. It is white colored, with the wrapper the color of chestnut. It has a strong aroma, is semi hard and with small holes.

The cheese is made from donkey milk in Zasavica Nature Reserve, Serbia. 6.6 gal (25 L) of donkey milk are needed to produce 2 lb (1 kg) of cheese. The farm is located about 50 mi (80 km) west of the Serbian capital of Belgrade. Female donkeys are milked 3 times a day by hand. There are about 130 male and female donkeys living at the farm.

This cheese is produced from milk, with special edible gold flakes and gold liqueur added. The farm is called Long Clawson Dairy, situated in Leicestershire county, Great Britain. It has gained world renown and even world famous pop stars are placing their orders along with Sheikhs from the Persian Gulf.
