It's summer, the perfect time to restock body with fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden or market. There's an abundance of tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, cabbage and peppers. They have been out in the sun a long time and the harmful pesticides and fertilizers have broken down, plus there won't be any nitrates present.
The healthiest people are those who eat raw leafy greens - salads, lettuce, spinach, celery, dill, arugula. Also don't forget these other edibles - plantains, dandelions and purslane. You'll find them in just about every garden.
Next come the fruits - raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. Eat as many fruits as you like and not just them but also foods rich in fiber. This way you're going to have a healthy body, maintain your weight and even lose some.
To have a long life, limit or completely stop consuming white flour, white sugar and meat. Animal source foods must only be eaten once a week. For example, in the first week eat a piece of meat with salad, in the second week eat fish with a large salad but without mixing it with bread, potatoes or rice. On the 3rd week, eat a fine cheese with a huge salad.
The main rule is not to mix meat, fish, cheeses with bread, potatoes and rice. Foods that contain carbohydrates shouldn't be mixed with animal foods but with vegetable salads instead.
Grilled zucchini, onions, carrots and eggplants are not only very tasty but very healthy as well. An important rule is that we should always leave the table a little hungry.
