You've decided it's time to clean your colon and improve your overall health and good tone, a good decision, indeed. The bad news is that there are hundreds of choices when it comes to diets, so you may need to do your home work, to choose one that will be right for you. There is a mistaken belief that no program works equally for all.
Colon cleansing has become a very popular method to detoxify the body and restore the regularity of defecation. Chronic constipation has become a major problem for many of us. Our diets often consist of highly processed nutrients and low in fiber foods. Many of these foods are not good for a healthy digestive system. The best way to keep your colon clean is to include foods for cleansing and detoxification in your diet.
One such food is nutritious fruit and in particular- mango. Mangoes are delicious exotic fruit that are very sweet and have a rich orange color with greenish matter. It has a soft texture and is a distinctive source of zinc. Mangoes have long been used as a folk remedy to relieve constipation as they have laxative properties. The fruits can be eaten fresh or dried, but preferably fresh fruit, because they have a high content of minerals and vitamins.
Another excellent food that helps restore regularity of the stomach and helps colon cleansing is a natural probiotic yogurt. It is important to choose a yogurt that is minimally processed as processed dairy usually does not give the same effect.
Flaxseed is also an easy way to get extra fiber to cleanse your colon cancer. Flaxseed can be added to smoothies, cereal or sprinkled on most foods without compromising taste.
Flaxseed is a wonderful cocktail of healthy proteins, essential fatty acids and fiber. It is easily absorbed and is one of the best foods that can be eaten for the health of the colon and intestines, as flaxseed acts as a natural laxative, which does not irritate the intestines.
Sample menu for the treatment of your colon
Breakfast: Eat only fruit until noon. Fruits are the most practical and easy breakfast because they do not have to cook and offer less fat and more fiber than other foods. You can eat as much as you want, just make sure you eat only fruit.
The fiber obtained from fruits with high content of water will have a positive effect on colon cleansing. You may fear that you will get hungry while eating only fruits. Lack of processed carbohydrates in fruits reduces the body's desire for more food, and regulates the raising and lowering of blood sugar.
Lunch, dinner and breakfast: Do not mix carbohydrates (starch) with protein (meat) at each meal. When combined, their digestive fluids partially offset simultaneous digestion, which leads to bloating, gas, constipation and lower absorption of nutrients.
Before bedtime: Do not eat anything three hours before bedtime. When you sleep, your body goes into another mode, which slows digestion and absorption of food. This is the perfect time to give your whole body a much-needed break.
Fluids: Drink half your body weight in ounces. Purified water is best, but green tea, juices and hot water are not negligible either. Fluids will help your body to cleanse and moisturize itself.
