Put the rice to boil with a 1 cup water. Boil until the water is almost completely absorbed.
Then while stirring nonstop add the milk and sugar.
Leave the rice with the milk to boil another 10 min.
In the meantime, beat the starch, egg yolks and 1/2 cup water.
Then while stirring nonstop add this to the rice. Keep stirring nonstop until it comes to a boil. Then leave to boil for 5-10 min. Add the vanilla.
Pour the resulting mixture into a glass cooking bowl. Put the bowl in a tray that's larger than it, pour water in the tray.
Bake the Milk with Rice in a water bath at 356°F (180 °C).
Bake until the rice turns a nice, golden crust. After taking it out of the oven, cover with a large plate.
Serve the dessert slightly cooled.
