Pour the yoghurt into a bowl, add the baking soda and stir. Add the sugar, salt, oil, vinegar and egg, stir the mixture well.
Pour the sifted flour into a tray, make a well and add the mixture from the bowl, knead a soft dough. Leave it to rise in a warm area (or in the oven at 122°F (50 °C)).
Once the dough is ready, divide it into 12-13 small balls, shape them as pictured and fry in hot oil.
Garnish the ready mekitsi with feta cheese or jam if desired.
