  • biscotti - about 2 packs
  • milk - 4 1/5 cups (1 liter)
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • vanilla - 2 packets
  • eggs - 4
  • flour - 2 tbsp
  • jam - of your choice

How to cook

Mix the milk with the sugar and vanilla and put it to boil. Beat 4 egg whites into dense snow and using a tablespoon, pour large and small snowballs into the boiling milk. Boil for 1 minute and remove with a slotted spoon into a bowl. Beat the egg yolks with the flour and gradually and carefully add the hot milk.

Put the cream to boil over low heat, while stirring it constantly, then remove from the heat. In a suitable bowl, place 1 row of biscotti and pour half the cream over them. Arrange another layer of biscotti and pour the remaining cream on.

Fill the empty spaces with crushed biscotti. Wait for the top layer of cream to cool completely and arrange the cooked balls of egg whites on it.

Optionally, garnish with cherry or raspberry jam.
