Ingredients

  • eggs - 2
  • sugar - 1 cup + less powder for sprinkling
  • oil - 2 tablespoons
  • soda - ½ tsp ammonia
  • flour - enough to make the cake
  • milk - 4 1/5 cups (1 liter)
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • eggs - 3
  • flour - 5 tbsp
  • starch - 2 tsp
  • vanilla - 2 sachets

Preparation

Beat the 2 eggs well with a cup of powdered sugar, add oil, flour, soda and ammonia - as much as you take to get a moderately firm dough. Divide the dough into 2 pieces, roll them into sheets and bake in a greased baking dish separately till it all turns rosy.

Put the milk to boil, add sugar and stir to dissolve. Beat 3 eggs with the flour and starch diluted with a little cold water. Add the egg mixture to the milk while stirring. Continue stirring until the cream begins to "pop."

Remove the cream from the heat and flavor with vanilla. Stir it until it cools down. In a baking dish, pour the cream on one layer and cover with the other.
