Ingredients

  • butter - 1 cup (250 g)
  • almonds - 4/5 cup (200 g) ground
  • sugar - 1 cup + powdered sugar for sprinkling
  • flour - 2 cups (500 g)
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • cloves - 1 tsp crushed
  • water - 1/2 cup

Preparation

Sift the flour well in advance. Mix well and add fresh butter, constantly stirring ground almonds, sugar, cinnamon, crushed cloves and flour gradually. Pour water and knead the dough thoroughly.

Form oval or round cookies and arrange them in a buttered baking dish. You can roll out sheets of dough and cut out shapes using cookie cutters. Bake them in a preheated moderate oven until golden.

While still hot, arrange in a deep dish and sprinkle with plenty of powdered sugar. Serve after the cookies absorb some of the sugar.find similar recipes here
