The meat is cut into pieces and excess fat removed and then it is fried in a heated oil until golden brown. When fried evenly, pour water and boil for at least 35-40 minutes on low heat until soft.
Sift the flour. In the middle of it, make a well, in which you put the egg, yogurt and a little water to get a medium hard dough. Dough is put away for 1 hour in a warm place, then split into 10 balls which are rolled into a thick crust.
8 of the pastry crusts are baked in the oven. The other two are rolled. Put one to cover the bottom and sides of a pre-greased tray. It is covered with mutton and a little broth. Add the baked pastry, which is crushed.
The top is covered with another unbaked crust. Greek meat pie in is baked in a preheated 356°F (180 °C) oven for about 35 minutes.
